Closeboard Fencing in Reading & Berkshire
A Strong, Private & Long-Lasting Fencing Solution
Closeboard fencing is the most popular choice for homeowners across Reading and Berkshire, and for good reason. It’s strong, private, long-lasting, and works well on sloped or uneven ground where panel fencing simply won’t fit.
At Reading Fencing, we build all our closeboard fencing on-site to your exact specification, using pressure-treated timber throughout.
What Is Closeboard Fencing?
Closeboard fencing, also known as featherboard fencing, is constructed on-site using vertical featheredge boards nailed to horizontal arris rails, which are in turn fixed to timber or concrete posts. Because each board overlaps the next slightly, there are no gaps, giving you a solid, private boundary.
Unlike panel fencing, closeboard is built board by board directly in your garden. This means it can follow the contours of the ground, work around trees and obstacles, and be built to any height you need.
Why choose closeboard Fencing?
- Maximum privacy - no gaps between boards
- Works on slopes without the need for stepped panels
- Can be built around trees, plants and other obstacles
- Strong and wind-resistant due to the overlapping board construction
- Available with timber or concrete posts and gravel boards
- All timber pressure-treated as standard
- 5-year workmanship guarantee on all installations
We install closeboard Fencing throughout Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham, Windsor, Caversham, Earley and across Berkshire.
