Trellis Fencing in Reading & Berkshire
Add Height, Privacy & Visual Appeal to Your Fence
Trellis is one of the most versatile additions you can make to your garden. Whether you want to add extra height to an existing fence, create a structure for climbing plants, or install a full trellis fence for a cottage garden feel, Reading Fencing supplies and installs trellis across Reading and Berkshire.
Benefits of Trellis Fencing
- Adds height and privacy without creating a closed-in feeling
- Supports climbing plants - roses, clematis, jasmine, wisteria, ivy
- Lets light into the garden while still defining boundaries
- Softer, more natural look than solid fencing
- Can deter intruders - the lattice structure is difficult to grip
- Available as toppers or full panels
Two Ways to Use Trellis
As a Fence Topper
The most popular use. A 30–60cm trellis section is added to the top of an existing closeboard or panel fence. This adds extra height and privacy, softens the look of a solid fence, and gives climbing plants like roses, clematis, and jasmine somewhere to grow. Fence toppers are also useful where a full-height fence isn’t permitted, for example, at the front of a property, but a little extra height is still wanted.
As a Full Fence
For cottage gardens or plant-focused designs, a trellis can be used as a full fence panel in its own right. It won’t provide the privacy of closeboard or panel fencing, but creates a beautiful structure for plants and adds a classic, characterful look.
Trellis Styles Available
Square Trellis
A clean, grid pattern. Works well in contemporary or minimalist gardens.
Diamond Lattice
The traditional diagonal-square style gives a classic cottage garden look. Works beautifully with climbing roses and wisteria.
Both styles are available in a range of sizes and can be pressure-treated to match the rest of your fencing.
